Lord Vishnu is the creator of the multiverse whose dazzling form contains every dimension of space. H is pleasure and discipline, fulfillment and forgiveness. He is the preserver of righteousness through eons. He signifies the merging of the soul with the absolute. 

In his first Avtar Matasya he represents awareness, allegorizing the creator God as one who helps the body to cross over its material existence.
